There was something about the warmth today.
Wrapped in a soft blanket, with the gentle warmth of the sun resting upon me, I found myself surrounded by a quiet sense of love and comfort. Warmth from both ends, as though I was being held by something so simple, yet so deeply comforting.
And somewhere in that warmth, something began to soften.
My thoughts were no longer racing.
I cannot quite say whether I was drifting toward sleep, entering a meditative state, or simply experiencing a moment of deep rest. Perhaps I don't need to know.
For a little while, I seemed to let my guard down.
It made me curious about the small, ordinary experiences that help us soften. Not everything that brings us into stillness needs to be a formal practice. Sometimes, comfort arrives through something as simple as sunlight on our skin or the familiar weight of a warm blanket.
Perhaps the invitation is not always to quiet the mind, but to notice what happens when we stop asking so much of it.
And perhaps, sometimes, rest is enough.
