A thoughtful space to begin
About Diljeet
Contempla grew from a desire to understand what helps us remain connected to ourselves and one another while life continues to move.
Meet Diljeet
A life shaped by more than one kind of learning.
I’m Diljeet K. Jandu, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology candidate, and Art of Living Breathwork and Meditation Instructor.
Before moving more deeply into counselling psychology, I spent a longstanding career in financial services, including analytical and risk-focused work. That world taught me to look carefully, ask better questions and understand how separate pieces affect the whole. It also gave me a close view of professional pressure, change, responsibility and the quiet weight people can carry while continuing to function.
Graduate study and my own periods of transition drew me toward the questions beneath that functioning: What happens when we become disconnected from ourselves? What helps us find steadiness? How do relationships, meaning, culture, creativity and everyday practices shape wellbeing?
Why Contempla
Research, reflection and lived wisdom.
Contempla is where I bring these different forms of learning into conversation.
My writing is informed by counselling psychology, research, a parent’s lens, longstanding workplace experience, breathwork and meditation teaching, culture, faith and the ordinary moments that ask us to pause and reconsider what matters.
I do not believe one framework explains an entire person. Wellbeing is interconnected across mind, body, relationships, meaning and everyday life. The aim is not to offer perfect answers, but to make complex ideas understandable and create space for thoughtful reflection.
Life gets messy. Contempla is where we explore what helps us live well, through research, reflection and lived wisdom.
Still · Flow · Glow
Why water remains at the heart of the work.
Water has been part of my own experience of reflection and healing. I am drawn to its calm, but also aware of its depth, power and mystery.
For me, Still is the space to notice and process. Flow is the capacity to remain responsive and alive while meeting the demands of life. Glow is the return of wisdom, hope, connection and play—not as forced positivity, but as something that can emerge gradually after difficult or messy seasons.
The spiritual meaning beneath these images is part of my own journey. On Contempla, it remains a quiet root rather than something imposed upon the reader. There is room here for psychological, practical, cultural and spiritual ways of understanding the self.
